My Top 5 SEO Strategies

If you’re not a trained professional, it can be hard to keep up with the latest in SEO trends and how to actually optimize your web site for search engines. Below are my Top 5 SEO Strategies that I use to get my clients improved rankings for their web sites.
- Register for a Google Adwords account and use their keyword tool to figure out what your best keyword phrases are for your services. You can start by looking at your top ranking competition and see what words they are using, then try to optimize your content using those keywords – and possibly some others that will get your site traffic for some niche audiences.
- Once you’ve determined the best keywords for each service, create a page on your web site for each service and use the top three best keyword phrases throughout the content.
- Optimize your home page using your top keyword phrase the best describes your overall business. You can implement the others as you explain your services, but you want your home page to generate traffic for your overall business mission.
- Make sure that you add the keywords for each page into your meta tag title, description and keywords. Do not stuff your keyword meta tags with words that are not on your page – that can actually hurt you with search engines. You only need the word once, separated by a comma.
- Make sure that your headings for the top of the page contain your main keywords and put them in an H1 tag, and put your keyword optimized sub headings in an h2 tag.
