Write Your Book FAST - Do 1 Thing

Many times when we think about writing and publishing a book our minds careen out of control into the depths of overwhelm.

Let’s put the brakes on that.

Instead, what one thing could you do right now to move forward in your dream of becoming a published author?

Here are four “just 1 thing” ideas I have for the want-to-be-published. I encourage you to pick one to apply today so you can be a published authors sooner rather than later.

1. Develop Your “Goal Statement.”

If you join one of my “Write a Book in a Weekend” events, the first thing I will encourage you to do is write and send me a goal statement describing why you want to write your book and what it will accomplish for you.

It doesn’t have to be long—200-300 words should do it.

And there is great power in those few words—more often than not, it’s the participants who take a few minutes to write and send me their goal statement who get their book done by the end of the weekend. How about that? No coincidences.

2. Describe Your Ideal Reader

When you are in the throes of thinking, thinking, thinking about your book and get caught up in the “doing” of writing, it can be very easy to become, frankly, quite self-absorbed—meaning you lose focus about who the book is for in the first place: your reader.

Another short assignment I would give you as a “Write a Book in a Weekend” participant is to write a short description of your “ideal reader.” Tell me about one person who will benefit from your book. Is it a man or woman? What age? Where do they live? What do they do? And then the big question: what is the biggest problem or challenge they face that your book will solve?

3. Write Your “About the Author”

You might think this is a “save for last” item, however I encourage my peeps to write their “About the Author” section first, stressing not only their own credentials, but the specific problems and challenges their readers face and how they intend to solve them. It’s another good way to get your book defined in your own mind, plus provide yourself with a big picture overview.

4. Take the “10 Minute Challenge”

This is a simple but effective technique to get going on a larger project. Set a timer for 10 minutes and GO, GO, GO, GO, GO! Challenge yourself to see how much you can write in those 10 minutes. Most likely you’ll get such momentum going you’ll add another 10, and another, and another…I use this often, including now as I write this piece. ;-)

5. Speed Write About Your Favorite Topic

Sometimes what gets in our way is thinking too much about what we “should” write versus what we “want” to write. No one says you have to start with Chapter One. A great way to jump start your book project is to pick your favorite topic and start writing about that, even if it might be the “wrap up” chapter.

You can see a common theme to all these ideas—getting started somewhere, anywhere! It’s amazing—and also magical—about what getting started can do for a person. I encourage you to pick one or two of the items above, apply them right now, and let me know the results.

To Change Or Not To Change

To Change Or Not To Change

The truth of the matter is information gathering happens in our conscious mind. This is where we gather information, listen to music or information, and we think, “Wow. Cool stuff. This is fabulous!” We feel excited, and then tomorrow we will have forgotten 90% of what we have heard, because that’s the way we have been conditioned. When we were children, we would sit in the classroom and gather information for tests, then we take the test and forget it. Did you know that your conscious thoughts are responsible for approximately 2-4 percent of your results. And your subconscious or habitual way of thinking and behaving is responsible for 96% to 98% of your results?

What a scary thought?

The brain gathers information at the conscious level in the frontal lobe of the head during beta brain frequency. In order for us to move the information from the conscious to subconscious and create REAL change, we must impress that information on the subconscious by repetition. We can do this through written, auditory, visual, or experiential ways. This is why affirmations, vision boards and hypnotherapy messages works so well.

It’s the implicit memory system or subconscious level where your habits live. Habits are thousands of times more powerful then desires. So your desire a CHANGE, you make your intention, your start to will the change but that is only a part of the equation.

There are 3 other parts to the equation:

1. You must have the right knowledge and/or in the right order.

2. You must have the instruction of what to do with it. For example, I can tell you that you need Aweber to build a list, but if you don’t receive the information on how to grow a list, you will fail.

3. You must “use or utilize” the information in life. You must take action on the information. Surround yourself in an environment that holds you accountable to your new behavior.

Through the repetition and environmental changes, we start to accelerate CHANGE in life. In fact we even start to think and behave differently.

I’m committed to learning how to change from the inside out so we can hold a vision that shifts our beliefs and behaviors.

That’s how change happens.

Your Homework:

1. Look at how you receive and repeat valuable information.

2. Make a habit of seeing (vision boards), hearing (audio programs) and experiencing (taking action) new thoughts and habits.

If you’re looking for a way to make more money online the obvious first place to start is with your own interests and hobbies. If the topic interests you – then there is a high probability that the topic interests thousands of people around the world!

So how do you choose your topic? Well, ask yourself a few simple questions about who YOU are:

What do you ultimately want in your life?
1. What do you naturally see happening for you when you step completely into your power.

Who are YOU? Let’s get back to the basics…
1. What is your name, age, and gender? Would this be the same of your target audience?
2. What did you enjoy as a child?
3. Describe where you live. Is this the environment to meet prospective clients?
4. Identify the traditional statistics about yourself: Blue collar or white collar? Spiritual or not? Liberal or conservative? Is this the type of people your resonate with?

Who do you RELATE and RESONATE with?
1. How would you describe your friends?
2. Do you make friends online or only in person?
3. What are the common interests of the majority of your friends?

How do you use your time?
1. What jobs have you held?
2. What volunteer activities or causes have you promoted?
3. What hobbies or entertainment do you enjoy?

Where do you go GO?
1. Do you enjoy traveling or do you like to stay close to home?
2. Are you an indoor person or an outdoor person?
3. Where do you want to go that you haven’t?

These have to be answered before you think about “HOW you are going to do it.”

By answering these questions you’ll get a deeper understanding of who you are, what you enjoy, and how you already share that with your friends. Look for areas that excite you and you have a passion about, then list those as possible topics to create an internet business around. This is the first step to finding your Unique Selling Proposition. It will also help you find something you will love to work on.

So once you’ve chosen some topics that you may want to use to create an online income – how do you know which is the best one?

This is the “marketability factor”.

Just because you think it’s a good idea doesn’t mean you can sell it. You have to do some market research to find out if it has broad appeal and the best way to sell your idea.

Answer these questions to determine if your idea has “marketability”:

1. How often do you hear your topic mentioned in the news? If the news media considers your subject important enough to report on with regularity, it’s probably something quite a few people are interested in. Televisions, magazines and newspapers are looking for ratings, and they get them by drawing large audiences with the information they present. The broader the audience they feel can be reached with a topic, the more often they will seek to cover it.

2. How many products are available on the market relating to your topic? Finding out you have a lot of competition is not necessarily a bad thing. It simply means there is a large enough consumer base to support products that deal with the topic—and that will include your product.

3. What is the approximate age range of people who would find your topic interesting? The best topics have broad demographical appeal. If your subject can interest anyone from teens to retirees, you have a great shot at creating and selling a successful product.

4. How fast would you act on a great deal for a product relating to your topic? How about your friends? Would you jump at a bargain if it related to the topic you’ve chosen? And how about the people you hang out with—your easy-to-reach target market? The sooner you can hook people into a sale during the buying process, the more likely your autoresponder campaign will be profitable.

5. What are the benefits of knowing more about your topic that customers would gain by buying your product? People want to know they’re getting what they pay for. Your topic should be able to provide buyers with some tangible knowledge or skill they would not otherwise have if they hadn’t purchased your product. Being able to list the benefits of your product will also help in your marketing,

Visualization To Empowering Greatness

Visualization To Empowering Greatness

This brief visualization that I practice regularly in my life. I thought I would share with you to help you avoid losing your ground during this stressful season.

It’s very simple. I want to offer it as a tool that you can kind of put in your back pocket.

I have five meditations I use regularly with clients. This is one of my favorites.

Wherever you are, take a very deep breath, in through your nose and feel the breath in your body. Allow it feels almost like warm steam running up and down your spine.

Now, take two more deep breaths, really feeling the heat in your spine and the energy centers (Chakras) in your bod. As you breathe in, the steam rises and as you breathe out the steam falls.

The next time the breath falls to the base of your spine, imagine an energetic cord (or roots) connecting you to the earth.

Indulge that feeling. What does that really feel like? How can you connect to this feeling anytime?

Continue to breathe in and out as slow as possible. Really integrating that root with you.

Okay. Now the next time the steam flows up, allow the top of the head to blossom like a blooming flower.

It’s a complete expression of all you are. How beautiful can you make it?

Indulge that beauty and blossoming openness. Be open to receive.

Be open to all the nourishment that is available to you from this universe. Get whatever you need to grow big and beautiful. As you feel your divine beauty and your divine growth.

Take a moment, feel the air on your skin. Notice all these feelings and sensations.

If you want, you can associate a color and shape with this feeling.

Then take the first three fingers on your right hand and tap your left wrist three times with your right hand. Do this an anchor this feeling right now.

Now whenever you feel off-center, you have this positive feeling anchored emotion available.

When you implant these anchors, it’s good to activate them up to eight times a day. When you are done reading this you can find this feeling again.

Take one more deep breath; really indulge those senses, adding that extra energy to grow your flower, your divine beauty.

Open your eyes and give yourself one brief tap on the wrist. Now make and intention to be here and be grounded during today and receive what you need to grow.

Business Intuition

Have you ever wanted to learn what your intuition is and how to embrace it in your business and life?  We all are intuitive on some level however some of us aren’t as aware of it as others.  Once you learn how to use and grow it, you will reach new heights in all aspects of your life and business.

What is intuition?

In the simplest terms… Your intuition is the feelings, emotions, images and thoughts you receive regarding things, people and circumstances.  It’s when you say to yourself “I knew that was going to happen” or “I have a feeling about…” or “I just know.”

The ancient called is the Agnya or “Third Eye”.  It’s within the 6th chakra.

We all have these feelings and moments.  The trick is to start paying attention to it and grow this gift so you can use it as a tool.  It is a tool for your use and when you develop it, you will see it as one of the most powerful tools you have in your possession.

Here are 4 ways to exercise your intuition and develop this extraordinary business tool.

Ask – Ask yourself questions, in moments you can just be with you.  Really think about your wording and as yourself important relevant questions.  Trust you will be given the answer, and allow yourself to be open to receiving it.  Ask frequently, and really see that and build a trust in knowing that the answers will be given.

Listen – Always be listening.  The answers can come from many sources.  You may even actually hear the answer in your own mind, or it may even be audible.  It may come from an outside source, that doesn’t have any awareness of what the question was you were asking.  Always be listening on several levels, and be aware of what is in your environment.

Be Open – Be open to receive the answer.  Don’t put any thought into when it will be answered.  Don’t demand it be answered now.  Trust and be open to receiving the answer, and know that you will be given the answer when you are ready to receive it.

Take Action – Don’t ask questions, just do it.  Whatever you received through your intuition just take action on it.  Trust in your gut, and the feeling inside when you receive your answer.

While we seek answers from others, and other may be the ones who provide us with “true” answer, only you know what the true answer is.

The “true” final decision of what is the right message can only be found in you.

Exercise and learn to use this wonderful tool of intuition.  Trust it, and allow it to guide you to your success.

Manifesting Money with The Law of Attraction

We all have the potential to have millions of dollars, and live the life of our dreams. As an entrepreneurial business coach that utilizes universal laws, I find this to be true often. I would go as far as to say — it’s a FACT.

FACT:
Money is “currency”, it flows in and out of our lives like the water we drink .

So, how does money FLOW? And what do you need to know to allow financial giving and receiving to happen with ease.

The Oceans of Universal Wealth – Once you accept and know that there is absolutely no lack in the universe. The universe is abundant. There is more than enough for everyone. Look at the ocean, the grass, the trees — it’s all abundant.

The problem is that not a lot of people understand how to engage the mind to allow money to flow. For example, you may be feeling a lack of money in your life or you may feel an urgency to “get” money. These mental dragons are exactly why you are resistant to receiving. The universe is set up to give you what you truly desire — meaning all parts of you are congruent in the belief of receiving what you “resonate” with.

Get Comfortable with The NOW – When you accept and feel in joy with where you are in the present moment, you ACCEPT the truth and yourself fully! The truth is it can be difficult to grow if you are not content with your current situation and grateful for what exists in this moment. Once you ACCEPT yourself presently, and embrace it, you will be begin to flow down the stream of to where you are going.

Where you are going, anyway? Do you have a clear vision of what you want to manifest in terms of money.

Pull Out Your Journal and ask yourself:

* (water)Why do you want it?
* (wood)What is it for?
* (earth)When do you want it by?
* (metal)How are you going to use it?
* (water)What are you going to give back in order to receive this money?

Think about the answers: Allow yourself to feel the experience of having money to fulfill your desires.

Observe yourself, what do you FEEL like with the money? Where are you? Who are you with? BREATHE that feeling in DAILY! Really connect, and strive to embrace that feeling, and carry it with you in your day to day life.

DECIDE and be your BEST– If you want to be a millionaire, then you need to be using your complete congruent energy. Strive to stay at the top of your game, by being present in each moment of your own life. Whatever it is you are doing give your best. Do your best every day, in all areas of your life. The way for you (the how) to receive the money will be revealed to you. You just need to be present and be your best.

Emotional Freedom
– So, what happens when you get emotional about your manifestations. This includes phobias, anger, fears and any other issues you may have makes you STOP or feel STUCK. In order to move forward and embrace your true self, you need to let go of these emotions that are not true to your divine self. There are various ways to do this and many resources available on learning how to do this.

Be Comfortable with Your Currency – Money LOVES attention — like all loving relationships. Are you really ready to embrace that connection of giving and kindness? How can your relationship with money be a loving one? If not, what do you need to do in order to prepare yourself for a joyful connection of giving and receiving?

Your Homework:
Develop a burning desire, and learn what it feels like to HAVE what you want. The feeling of having will bring up a determination I can not describe.

Recently, one of my clients called me “Focahontas”, because our work together has provided him clarity and focus to his vision. However, what I find that I really do is provide simple ways for us to focus and operate in business (and life).


Today’s article is one of my simple way methods that you can use to leverage your time with more effective ways to communicate with your clients.


How are YOU communicating effectively? Not just in your marketing, branding and documentation, but in all ways that you use your words and the energy behind your words.


I tell my two year old all the time to “use her words”. I’ll tell you the same.


As I see it, there are five levels of communication to create greater wealth in your business and life.


Level 1: Mental Chatter: When we speak negatively to ourselves or when we are randomly fretting about the future or the past. This is the worst kind of communication. The energy of the words causes negative creation. You are creating things that you don’t want and desire. You are also effecting others by not being present for them.


Level 2: Exchanging Words: When we exchange words we are speaking and sharing nonsense. Some people call it “complaining”, “chit chatting” others may call it “gossiping”. Whatever form it comes in for example in person, email or phone you will know it when you feel drained of energy.


Level 3: Value-add: When we speak to add value we are connecting with others. These people are great as team players.


Level 4: Motivate: When we speak to motivate others, we become proactive with our lives and clear on how to lead others with our words.


Level 5: Inspire: When we speak to inspire others, we become driven by the heart and passionate about help others grow. The words in this article are designed to inspire change from within you.

Have you ever wondered why so many entrepreneurs FEEL “stuck” making the same income year after year?

Yesterday I was reading and relaxing on my hammock when, Susie, one of my V.I.P mentoring clients called. She quietly said, “Jen, you won’t believe what I just attracted.” Turns out she was invited to be a guest on the “Wake Up with Whoopi” show. This was this 3rd call of this kind I received from her. She is an attraction magnet!

Let me give you a little background about Susie…

Three months ago, Susie, would have rejected anything that was more than 40 bucks. Well, maybe a little more than that. Maybe 100 bucks, but you see what I am getting at. It didn’t matter what service or product if it was over a certain amount – she wasn’t interested. Basically, she wanted to grow her business at zero cost. She was treating her business like a home-based hobby. I taught her what my mentors taught me – The Art Of Zero Resistance so she could see visible opportunities are flowing like no tomorrow.

I learned Zero Resistance from Maxwell Maltz and Bob Proctor. Though their words are different, the approach is the same. In my words, it’s about listening to your inspirations, making swift decisions (committed decisions) and taking immediate action. You do all that before the dragons of fear, doubt or anxiety creeps in.



The Short Version: How to practice Zero Resistance

When something comes to you the first questions should not be “How much”, but “Do I want this in my life”, and “Is it a part of my vision”? If the answer is, “Yes.” Then you make the decision to do and then take immediate action. Just go before the dragons enter into your head! Seriously. In other words, go with your gut. It is simple to understand, but my not be easy to implement. What do you think?
